Uniforms at MMS
At MMS, our students wear uniforms to limit distractions while learning.
By wearing the school uniform, your student is showing others that they respect our individual focus and collective education.
MMS students may choose from:
Uniforms may be purchased from the vendor of your choice. See below for retailer suggestions!
MMS logo embroidery and/or screenprinting is optional.
Each school year, MMS will host a fundraiser during which you may purchase school clothing with logos or limited edition screenprints.
Shoes should be comfortable, sturdy, and closed-toe.* Cowboy boots, cleats, and/or light-up or noise-making shoes are not allowed. Please no lace-up shoes for children under 6 years.
MMS Uniform Closet: Families may donate used uniforms that are in good condition, and may “shop” at the Uniform Closet for a donation of your choosing to MMS.
Please ensure that your child is dressed in weather-appropriate clothing, with adequate outerwear for outdoor play in winter. For safety, Toddler and Primary students will not be allowed to wear hoodies with hoodie cords.
Please provide extra weather-appropriate clothing to be kept at school. DO NOT PROVIDE MORE THAN FOUR SETS OF EXTRA CLOTHES. Label everything!
Toddler:
● For easier toileting, please choose elastic waistbands for your child's clothing. Please avoid fastenings and onesies.
● Shoes should be closed-toe with soft soles and no laces. Students will generally remove their outside shoes before entering the classroom.
● Please choose cotton underwear with optional plastic covers, and provide several extra pairs to be kept at school.
● Several extra sets of weather-appropriate clothing should be kept at school.
Toileting: The sensitive period for toileting is between 12 and 20 months; children are most receptive and cooperative with toileting routines between these ages, and waiting later to begin toileting may result in resistance. The Toddler staff will encourage families to begin toilet training between these ages, and will fully support that process at school.
Primary:
● Shoes should be closed-toe with soft soles and no laces. Velcro-fastened shoes are an excellent style for a Primary student to wear. Students will remove their outside shoes before entering the classroom. Students are welcomed to bring in-class slippers.
