MMS has been recognized as an Educational Services Charitable Organization (ESCO) under the Mississippi Children’s Promise Act!
This means tax credits may be available to business taxpayers who donate to the school. More information on these tax credits is available on the Mississippi Department of Revenue's website. To qualify for one of these tax credits, business taxpayers must file an application online with the Mississippi Department of Revenue. The application is available at https://tap.dor.ms.gov/ by clicking the “Apply for a Charitable Contribution Credit” link under Apply Online. If the DOR approves the application, it will send the taxpayer a letter containing a donation deadline and details for providing proof of the donation. Importantly, tax credits for donating to ESCOs are subject to a statewide annual maximum, so businesses must submit the required application as early in the year as possible before the max is reached. The DOR typically begins accepting applications at 8:00 a.m. on the first business day of the new year. The MMS Team is excited for this opportunity and is beyond happy to help businesses complete this application. We will also submit the application on behalf of any business interested in contributing through this program -- with gusto!
