Magnolia Montessori School is a non-profit school that offers Montessori education to students ages 15 months to 12 years in Oxford, Mississippi, and the surrounding area. Our school opened in 2009 in Taylor, Mississippi, as Plein Air Montessori School; we quickly expanded, and moved to our current location on College Hill Road in Oxford in 2014. |
Our Mission
|
The mission of Magnolia Montessori School is to educate the whole child, fostering independence, empathy, confidence, and collaborative problem solving through fully-implemented Montessori methods. Our program is designed to promote curiosity, inquiry, and engagement for all students as they interact with the people in their diverse community and the environment that supports them.
Magnolia Montessori School aims to foster in each child a sense of respect, responsibility, and resourcefulness for themselves, our community, and our connected and global society. By encouraging curiosity and innovative thinking, our students maintain a life-long love of learning and sense of duty towards stewardship and ethical responsibility. Every MMS student undergoes a self-construction that allows for the development of their fullest academic, social, and emotional potential. Our families and staff work together to create a foundation upon which an authentic Montessori education can grow and have a positive impact in our community. |
Magnolia Montessori School is accredited through Cognia
and is a proud MDHS Childcare Payment Program and Childcare Aware of America provider.
Each of our classrooms features age-appropriate materials designed to build upon children’s natural inclination towards independence, order, and a love of learning.
Every school day, our students and guides share a family-style meal, giving everyone the opportunity to practice grace, courtesy, and conversational skills at mealtime. Lunches are prepared in-house and feature fresh, whole, and seasonal ingredients, with much of our produce sourced locally through our own garden, Chicory Market, Oxford Community Market, and others.
